Having developed and evolved over a number of years - this year’s festival celebrates its eleventh year.
Whilst moving dates very slightly for this year only – due to the Queen’s Jubilee, we envisage that the popularity and growth of the Festival will continue unabated.
Last year’s Festival was the best yet – with a record number of exhibitors having “sold out” which is a credit to their products - and the appetite of the discerning public!
Historically having concentrated on quality and small producers - the Festival sets out to promote the best that, Welsh food producers in particular, have to offer.
Every year we have a fine selection of specialist cheeses, meats, drinks, sauces, fish, fruit, vegetables, eggs, wines, confectionery and much more for your perusal. We regularly seek out and invite quality new exhibitors - to keep your interests and taste buds alive and surprised.
A big thanks is again extended to the Welsh Government for their enlightened, continued and vital support to the festival. Be sure also to look out for the numerous True Taste award winners that attend our event and who are representative of the best that the Welsh food industry can deliver.
A huge vote of thanks is also extended to all the exhibitors who again last year contributed in making the atmosphere so relaxed and friendly, and to all our regular helpers on the day, for ensuring things ran as smoothly as they did. Last, but by no means least, we need to thank the public - both local and visitors - who came and spent their hard earned cash!
Having experimented with some Welsh culture items last year (singing), due to the favourable response received , during the lunch-breaks - we will be repeating the exercise this year!
We will have a minimum of four professional Chefs over the two days, to let you know about food, how to cook and add some techniques and shortcuts to your cooking methods. If you are willing to queue for a few minutes, you even get to taste the result of their efforts on stage – to see if they practice what they preach!
Finally, we again have distractions and interests for the ”little people” to make sure they can remain occupied- be that having their faces painted for free or drawing and painting on the Gwynedd Council’s SAC Special Area of Conservation stand - which has hoards of information and literature about marine life in and around the Llyn peninsula.
Put it in your diary, come and see us – you are assured a warm welcome!
